Occupational Therapist
Tailored therapy through play, fostering growth and development
I'm a Senior Paediatric Occupational Therapist and founder of OT Be Fun. I am also a mum to two young and very energetic boys!
The philosophy of OT Be Fun is that Occupational Therapy can be fun! I have a great understanding for incorporating play-based learning, making therapy sessions enjoyable and effective for developing new skills.
When launching OT Be Fun, I made a deliberate choice to offer mobile services. Providing therapy in your child's own environment is crucial for engaging them in meaningful activities and routines. It also facilitates collaboration with family members and educators, enhancing the overall effectiveness of the therapy.
I provide therapy at home, day care or school, at a time that suits the child, family and educators.
Every child grows and learns at their own pace. Occupational therapy supports children in reaching key developmental milestones by enhancing their physical, cognitive, and emotional skills. Through play-based strategies, we help build confidence, independence, and a strong foundation for future learning and daily activities
Fine motor skills are essential for everyday tasks like writing, dressing, and using utensils. Therapy focuses on strengthening hand-eye coordination, grip strength, and finger dexterity to improve precision and control. Whether it's holding a pencil, buttoning a shirt, or using scissors, we provide fun and engaging ways to develop these crucial skills.
Building strong social connections is vital for a child's emotional well-being. Therapy helps children develop communication, emotional regulation, and teamwork skills through guided play and structured activities. We support children in understanding social cues, making friends, and feeling more confident in group settings
Daily routines like getting ready for school, mealtimes, and bedtime can sometimes be overwhelming for children and families. Occupational therapy provides strategies to promote independence, reduce frustration, and create smoother transitions throughout the day. By working together, we help establish consistent and manageable routines that support both the child and their caregivers
